Tour Overview
Barcelona’s story begins with Barcino, the city founded by the Romans. In the stone streets of the Gothic Quarter we trace 2,000 years of history on foot, from the cathedral to hidden squares in the oldest part of the city.
We then cross into El Born to see the Santa Maria del Mar basilica, its medieval merchant streets and a lively neighbourhood now full of boutiques and tapas bars.

Itinerary
Cathedral and Roman walls
We start near the cathedral and tell the story of the city’s founding through the remains of Barcino.
Squares of the Gothic Quarter
In squares such as Plaça Sant Jaume and Plaça del Rei, we talk about life in medieval Barcelona.
El Born and Santa Maria del Mar
We visit this Catalan Gothic basilica, built by sailors and merchants, and the streets around it.
